  2. So true that successful people have learned to manage their anxiety. Self-coaching helps me a lot, as do a bunch of things you mentioned, plus qigong, yoga, drinking matcha tea or GABA oolong tea, meditation.

    @Shari, I Love the idea of self-coaching and I drink LOTS of tea…chamomile, dandelion, linden, rooiboos and more. They all help to keep me calm and less anxious. I recently did a workshop on qigong. Amazing stuff! I tried some of the deep breathing techniques I learned and they really are very effective. And that’s the good news. We do not have to live in a state of constant anxiety, there is an abundance of anxiety home remedies we can put to good use.

  4. Anxiety is tough to deal with but thankfully there are allot of things we can do to make it better. I like using lavender as you mentioned and also listening to relaxing music seems to help. Keep up the blog posts as anxiety is nothing to mess around with!

    These are such good tips, Darlene! So many different things to try. Scheduling a little bit of time to allow myself to worry is something I want to try right away. I spend so much time trying not to worry sometimes, and I am intrigued by just giving myself a few minutes to do it and then to move on. I am going to try this! I also completely agree with exercising enough to work up a sweat to banish worry. I know that when I really go hard during a workout I always feel so much better, and so much more positive. This is something I do not do enough, and I need to make more time for it.

      Hi Amanda, what kinds of workout do you do? It does not always have to be typical exercise. There are many other “less typical” work-outs that qualify as excellent home remedies for anxiety. Ever tired frisbee with the kids? That’s a GREAT anxiety buster. Or even just playing any other game with the kids ( hide and seek, catch ball, etc). Just breaking away from your anxious thoughts to do something fun for 20-30 minutes can be very uplifting.
