Here are some stress relief remedies to ensure that this time of year goes off without a hitch.

Nothing will compound your stress like being disorganized. So start with a good to-do list!

Especially if you are sending a child off to college! College students usually have a long list of things that they need to get together.  It is imperative that you get and stay organized.

Boxes and labels can help.  You also will need a checklist that ensures that you actually get everything done before the first day of school.

Start preparing at least a week beforehand.

Your life will be much less stressful if you give yourself at least a week to ease into school.

This means giving yourself a few days to do the necessary shopping.  You’ll also need to get your child psyched for the school year to start.  Make sure you are organized so their first day goes perfectly.

It’s one of the best stress relief remedies you can use.

When all else fails, try aromatherapy.

Getting organized and preparing early can only help you so much.

There is inevitably going to be stress for unforeseen.  What if you realize the day before school starts that you forgot some vital thing from your child’s school list.

Every year parents deal with the challenge of buying back-to-school clothes.

Stores are crowded, items are expensive, and you know your kids will probably outgrow everything before the clothes wear out.

Use these stress relief remedies  to minimize the cost and avoid the crowds.

Set a budget. As with anything else, the first step to limiting how much you spend is to set a budget and actually stick to it.

Assess your current situation. Make a list of what your child currently has? Write down what fits? Evaluate what can be reused for the new school year? Figure out what you’re actually going to need, make a list, and keep it with you.

Consider hand-me-downs. Do you have older children whose clothes would be appropriate for your younger child? What about the children of your friends, neighbors, and co-workers?  Many people just throw perfectly good clothes in the trash. You may be pleasantly surprised at what others may offer you, and usually everything is free!

Consider buying used clothes. Your kids might not be thrilled if they knew, but don’t need to know. Thrift stores and consignment shops have many pieces of clothing in excellent condition. Some are designer items that cost a ton of money new.

Much of the apparel has only been worn a couple of times, and it’s not unheard of to find stuff that’s never been worn. Your kids will never know, but your bank account will be able to tell the difference.

Trade-in Clothes & Garage Sales

Trade in the old clothes. Many stores like Once Upon a Child and Plato’s Closet specialize in used clothing. You can you get some money for those clothes your child can no longer wears! More importantly, you might find a great price on something your child will love!

Also consider selling last year’s clothes at a garage sale or on eBay. Your child’s old clothes may have value to someone, especially if they’re in good condition.  That one of the best stress relief remedies to help you de-clutter as well as earn some extra money for back to school items.

Check to see if your state has a back-to-school tax holiday. Some states have a couple of weeks or weekends before school starts when they temporarily eliminate sales tax. You can save a LOT!  So check if your state has this tax break before you plan your shopping trips.
